Yay it’s Fall decorating time and I’m so excited! I have a vision in my head of how I want to style the front porch so decided to start with the fall door decor. I also didn’t want to buy yet another wreath. So, I decided to repurpose one I already had. I’m wanting to add a little more green in with the Fall color this year on the porch and I had a simple olive leaf wreath that was perfect for adding some fall touches to. Not only was it simple, but very inexpensive.
I’ve had this olive branch wreath for a few seasons and love the simplicity of it. I purchased two stems that had corn husks and a few embellishments added so they were perfect for adding on to the existing wreath.
Supplies needed:
- Wreath base- existing wreath or wreath form with olive branches
- Corn Husk stems
- Miscellaneous fall pick like berries, acorns, etc
- Florist wire
- Wire cutters
Step 1
Cut cork husks off stems or use individual corn husks .
Next add small pieces of wire to the base of the corn husks.
Step 2
Wire the husks to the base of the wreath spacing out as desired. I separated mine 3″-4″ apart and maneuvered them to face out and upward. I added about 5 husks on each side.
Step 3
Add the embellishments you like to the center of the wreath balanced symmetrically on each side. I wired a few rust eucalyptus stems and acorns to the base on each side.
Step 4
Hang your wreath and enjoy!
I just love how it turned out and how it looks on the front door. Next I’m going to style the whole porch so stay tuned on how I created the arrangements and styled it all.
