There are 5 elements that are my go to’s when setting up my porch. It makes arranging things easier and gives me a goal to change these items seasonally or add to them to change with each season.

Lanterns or Lighting

First, I love to add a pretty lantern to welcome guests.  Battery operated candles that are on a timer or has a remote. are great ways to add some ambiance. The timed lights are perfect because they will go on and off and you don’t have to worry about them. Plus they add a gorgeous glow to your whole entryway.

Planters & Plants

Next, adding some greenery and color for the seasons is the perfect way to create more texture. Plants create an inviting and welcoming bit of color and help tell the story of your home. They are also inexpensive ways to add a seasonal touch to even the smallest of spaces.

Door Decor

Another element is to adorn the entrance with beautiful decor on the front door gives great curb appeal. However, there can be many options for decorating this space. It can be a wreath, swag, basket and more. Greet friends with a seasonal touch and use this space to show your decor style and personality. Ultimately, the front door is usually the first thing people will notice so have fun with it. I tried a little something different and layered a wreath with a swag and I love how the two mix together to give a unique unexpected look

Door Mat

Another way to bring in more color and texture to your entryway or porch is with a fun doormat. I’m loving this layered look with the larger printed mat and adding a small one on top with a fun saying or some color. You can keep the larger mat and just change out the top one seasonally.

Welcome Sign

What better way to say welcome than with a sign. A fun greeting to say we are happy you’re here adds a special touch to the whole space. However, the sky is the limit when it comes to signs so go for what tells your story and represents your home.

Finally you can add seasonal pieces to finish off the theme. For this look I added a variety of pumpkins, cornstalks and baskets filled with plants to complete the harvest theme. Above all, have fun with it and do what represents your style and family. After-all it’s the first impression people will have of your home.
