I love to gift gifts for any occasion. It’s so fun to treat others and making them from scratch is my jam! I’m going on a little girls trip to Waco Texas meeting several bloggers. They are all out of state so I thought it would be fun to make them some “welcome to Texas” gift boxes. This idea would be great if you have out of town wedding guests, family reunions and more. Just select items that represent your state. I had so much fun
I love to use gable boxes for gifts. Whenever I entertain I love to give a party favor so I often use these boxes for wrapping items. To me the presentation is part of the gift. Because this is a Texas theme I decided to go with a denim and bandana look.
Here are the items I made for the gifts
- Ranch Rub seasoning
- Texas pecans
- Wildflower bath soak
- Scented sugar scrub
I found all the items for this gift at Hobby Lobby.
Texas Ranch Rub
This fun spice mixture can be used as a rub for steaks, chicken, brisket and more.
Recipe
- 2T smoked paprika
- 2T sea salt
- 1T garlic powder
- 2t black pepper
- 2t cayenne pepper
- 2t onion powder
- 2t dried oregano
- 1t ground cumin
mix all spices and place in a sealed container
Add all the ingredients to a large bowl
Next mix the ingredients well.
Then funnel the spices into container of your choice.
I added the spices to these fun tube glass jars with a screw top lid. Then I added a cute label I made on Word.
Texas Wildflower Bath Soak
This is a recipe I use often for gift giving. Its simple ingredients make it easy and inexpensive.
- 2 cups epsom salt
- 1 c pink Himalayan salt
- essential oils of your choice. I used lavender, geranium, bergamot and jasmine
Combine all the ingredients into a container and seal tightly. I also made a cute tag and tied it around the neck of the jar.
Texas Wildflower Sugar Scrub
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 pink Himalayan salt
- 1/4 c coconut oil
- Essential oil of your choice. I used Lavender, Geranium, Bergamot, Jasmine
Then I placed the scrub in metal tins and added a label made on Word.
I filled the boxes with paper shred and tucked in all the ingredients. I put the pecans in clear bags with a homemade label.
I decorated the boxes with a denim paper and created a label on Word. Then I tied a wired bandana ribbon on top. I also made the tags and clipped them on with a mini clothespin.
Now I can wait to give them to my friends. I have several homemade gift ideas throughout my blog here are a few to check out Beautiful Homemade Gifts- Rosemary Mint Bath Soak, Beautiful Homemade Gifts-Lip Care Kit,

Texas Gift Boxes
Okay, this might be a little bit random, but I saw your blog and had to ask, are you interested in a translation job? I know I’m a stranger but I felt like doing a good deed today by alerting a couple people that a good position has opened up here: https://bit.ly/TranslationJobsHiring and they pay sometimes even $40/hour. Okay, they won’t always give that amount, I only made around $300 last week, but it’s part time and when times are tight, every little bit helps. Hope it helps, and my apologies if you’re not interested. Have a great day/evening!
