Fall is in full gear here and Texas weather is even cooperating, yay!! I was so excited to create this beautiful Fall porch. Once I cleared out the summer cobwebs and bugs, I had a clean slate (literally) and couldn’t wait to get started. My original plan took a pivot when I made the door wreath and morphed into this look. Come see the details on how I created it all.
I had different plans for this space. However, once I created the door wreath, my vision changed. I loved the simple, neutral vibe of the wreath and it led me into a completely different direction. Here is the tutorial on how I created the wreath How To Make A Simple And Beautiful Fall Wreath
Once I created the wreath, I then started changing my mind about the planters and created these cute (and simple) pumpkin stack topiaries and then it all took off from there. Here is how I created the topiaries How To Make A Beautiful And Simple Pumpkin Stack Arrangement For Your Porch.
Here are the elements I always incorporate when designing our front porch:
Welcome Mat
I love to have a pretty (and fun) way to greet guests. Door mats are a great way to incorporate some whimsey, pattern and texture to the entryway. I added this double layer with a pretty plaid then the contrasting black Hello mat. I love the pop it adds to the space.
Lighting
I like to incorporate some type of lighting for ambiance. Twinkle lights or battery operated candles are perfect. These black lanterns are great for housing a candle. You can put them on timers to go on at dusk and it adds a pretty glow to the whole look.
Welcome Sign
Signs are a perfect way to greet your guests. I change out this sign each season. It adds such a pop of contrast and sets the mood for the whole porch. This one is from Simply Inspired Design Co.
Planters
Depending on the season, I always have plants or flowers related to the theme. This year instead of doing plants, I created this fun pumpkin topiary and added some fall leaves and grapevine to finish the look (plus so much easier to maintain)
Door Decor
Of course no porch is complete without some type of decor for the front door. Here is where you can add a lot of personality with color, theme, texture and, character. If you can only select one item to decorate with, this would be my number one suggestion.
