It’s that time of year when Christmas decor comes down, the sparkle is gone and it’s dreary outside. Our homes can feel so drab when the festivity is gone so we need to create a cozy vibe to keep our spirits up. With just a few simple elements, you can liven up your home and keep the snuggly atmosphere alive. Creating pretty vignettes using a few elements is a super easy way to dress up your home and keep the pretty touches once Christmas is long gone. I save a few of my cedar and pine stems to keep some of the color to place around the house.
Elements of Nature
There are a few items that are perfect to add for Winter decor. Pine stems, pinecones, branches and antlers all have a perfect combination of color and texture. Mix and match the stems for a more realistic look.
Textured Accents
Items like caning and fluted or ribbed decor pieces are a big trend for 2022. They also add warmth and character to any space. Cane boxes, wood vases and baskets are perfect to add some warmth to your styled spaces.
Neutral Layers
I love the look of monochromatic arrangements and mixing different textures to create interest. Warm woods are perfect to anchor all one color scheme to give some contrast and definition. What also makes it work is the combination of various shapes and sizes. Here I used pretty creme stems that add bulk and texture but blend seamlessly to give a wintry but cozy feel.
Artwork
Winter scenes like these pine trees are a perfect way to give a winter vibe in your home. The art can set the scene and a mood for the whole space. I loved the contrast of the black with the variegated neutral pine trees together for this mantel look.
Candlelight
Don’t put away those battery operated candles. I placed a variety of sizes all around the house and they add such a beautiful twinkle in the late day when it gets darker so soon. That glow sets the most cozy, relaxing vibe in the house and brightens your mood instantly.
Cozy Textiles
A basket of blankets, fluffy pillows and pretty area rugs are a must for making your spaces inviting and cozy. A simple gold bowl filled with pine stems, pinecones and magnolia leaves are perfect compliments to the fluffy blankets.
Simple Collections
Pulling together just a few minimal items to create a centerpiece is the perfect Winter touch. Use a tray or board to anchor all the items. Here I used a pretty bowl to house a few large pinecones and pine stems. The chinky wood chain adds some warmth and more character to the the arrangement.
Are you feeling comfy and cozy yet? I hope these gave you some pretty ways to warm up your home after Christmas and add a little glow too. If you aren’t subscribed to my weekly newsletter, be sure to sign up to stay updated on all the latest posts and details here on the blog.
