Fall Decor Home Tour Inspiration And Ideas

Happy Fall y’all!! Yay, I love this time of year. I wish I could say it’s because of the crisp cool days, but this is Texas and that’s a rarity!! But I adore Autumn colors and the warm textures. This year I went with a soft, neutral pallet of mustard, wheat, and soft rust tones.  To see last year’s fall decor you can visit this post Early Fall Home Tour Inspiration for some Fall tablescape inspiration you can visit this post here Fall Tablescape Inspiration So, come along for a little fall house tour…

For this years Fall decor I wanted a more understated, cozy feel with touches of warmth using natural elements such as wheat, leaves and woods.

Living Room Mantel

For my mantel I went with a French Country theme using woods, glass jars, greenery and white pumpkins. I used a mirror for the backdrop, at placed a large round cutting board off center in front of it to add the warm wood tones. Then I used jars filled with faux pampous grass stems in 3 different colors.

On the other side to add more height to match the right side, I added a bunch of tall wheat and placed some black metal candle holders in front of the wheat to bring in some more of the black from the mirror( don’t worry I won’t light them in front of the wheat!)

Next, I placed 2 greenery bunches as the base to drape over the mantel piece. To soften the warm tones I added white pumpkins in various shapes and shades at different angles.

Living Room Entryway

In keeping with a more simplistic theme this year I brought more of the warm elements and textures in various spots throughout the house.

I started by dressing up this large mirror with a pretty and simple wheat horseshoe wreath. You can learn how to make one yourself in this post How To Make A Wheat Horseshoe Wreath

Then I added these soft natural toned leaf picks I purchased at Michaels Stores. To bring in more warmth and wood I added a collection of various wood candlesticks and placed some little white pumpkins on top.

My cute Fall sign is from Simply Inspired Design co. They have a wonderful collection of so many styles.

Another look that’s fun is to take a wood bowl, tuck in some of your favorite Fall foliage some draping greenery and and tuck in a pretty pumpkin.

This space is always a challenge because of the open concept. I love to decorate so much but have to be careful not to overdo it. Too much can give it a cluttered feel. Keeping the colors cohesive is very important. I kept the mantel as the spotlight and picked up the rest of the color with various pillow covers in a variety of color and texture. I added a pretty centerpiece to the coffee table and nestled fall leaves in a large dough bowl with a few pumpkin using white and soft orange

In the kitchen I wanted to keep it simple and very natural. Since the space is so small and open, I didn’t want it to feel too cluttered with stuff. A simple wreath above the vent hood, some wheat and pumpkins here and there were just enough for me. I utilized the wood tones from cutting boards and other accessories and then added small pops of Fall foliage.

For this centerpiece I used a vintage wood bread bowl, added some straw, Fall picks and a fun faux pumpkin. I placed it on a cutting board to add additional interest and warmth. For table setting ideas you can read this post here Fall Tablescape Ideas

I used to never decorate our bedroom for holidays, but now that its on the main floor it is more visible and I love having it pretty for the seasons. First I added 3 pretty wreaths with some pop of color over the bed. I love that they are natural elements and the rust and wheat look so pretty against the dark wall.  Then I added some seasonal pillows to pick up more fall color.

On the night stand I kept it very simple with a pretty white vase and pumpkin anchored by beautiful fall stems. I love how the white contrasts with our dark wall. For details on how we updated this room and made the nightstands you can read about it here Easy, Inexpensive Updates For A Bedroom

Next up in the fall house tour is the mantel, I kept with the color theme and placed lots of texture and color together. I love how the wheat works with the glass amber jars and the sign  from Simply Inspired Design CO just made the whole look come to life.

What kind of wood is your fireplace mantle?

      Hi Mary,

We used Knotty pine boards to build the mantel, then I used a minwax stain in dark walnut.

Thanks for following and happy Fall,

Love it!!! Wish I could use white in furniture but I can’t!!!

      Hi Mary,

Thanks. It’s actually more beige but comes off looking more white in photos. The best thing about these is that all the covers are removable and wash up great in the washing machine. It’s still more maintenance but not too bad.

      Thanks for commenting

  4. Love the caramel and wheat colors used throughout your home. I have been looking everywhere for that color in pillows. Do you mind telling me where you got them? Everything is beautiful Deborah. Perfectly fall.
