Fall Tablescape Inspiration

Happy fall y’all and welcome November…wow it sure got here quickly, I swear September just started! If you’ve followed me any length of time, you’ll know that I love doing tablescapes. So, I’m sharing some ideas and inspiration for you to do your own table whether it’s for fall entertaining or even to save for Thanksgiving (which will be here before ya know it)

Welcome to my table friends…. I often get asked if I set my table like this every night, or if I leave it set up like that all the time. The answer is no and no! I love entertaining and when I do, I love a fun table for my guests. And will often set a fun table when the whole family is together. But most of the time, I’m just playing around with ideas to share with you! Think of it as playing  “dress up” but on a table. For more fall decorating inspiration, you can visit my fall home tour here Early Fall Home Tour Inspiration or this post from last fall Grateful Gatherings … Thanksgiving Decor inspiration & Blog Hop

This theme is a perfect transitional table from fall, to Thanksgiving to Christmas. I started with a neutral leaf/berry runner as the base. Then I added two types of greenery, 3 pine sprays and a wired small leafy greenery. I love to use the garland with wire so that you can manuever the branches to the shape you need it to be.

For height, I used a variety of natural wood candlesticks and birch covered candles, to give a woodsy look with texture.

Next, I popped in some creamy white pumpkins of various shapes and sizes, elevating the largest one on a white cake plate. The place settings are layered with white chargers, plates and a fun graphic plate. To finish off each place setting I added a mini pumpkin from the Target dollar spot. The graphic plates are from Michael’s Stores

This table setting is more of an everyday look. A simple textured runner to match the covered chairs,  straw place mat, black charger and striped napkin (from Target). To add the little touch of fall, I placed these wood leaves purchased from the Target dollar spot.

The centerpiece is just a large wood bread bowl with a boxwood garland around the rim and sprigs of white berries and persimmon picks. Then I nestled the large galvanized metal pumpkin purchased at Hobby Lobby. It would be beautiful with a large wood or white pumpkin as well.

This next table is a simple, everyday neutral table using basic items to layer. Just one simple white pumpkin in the middle as the centerpiece flanked by two black hurricane candles. The little cupcake stands are a perfect way to elevate the mini faux pumpkins.

What gives this table its pop is the black and white check napkins. Any bold print would work to stand out against all the simple details.

The theme for this table is a natural “woods & whites” look. Again, a neutral base textured table runner first. The centerpiece is a large bread bowl filled with white pumpkins and faux succulents. I always add some type of element pertaining to nature whether it’s flowers, greenery or branches.

I then added a variety of heights and sizes of wood candlesticks and added mini faux pumpkins on top of the wide candlesticks.

For the place settings I started with a neutral colored leaf place mat purchased and a white scalloped charger, both purchased at Pier 1 Imports. I simple creamy white dinner plate  topped with a white leaf plate(purchases at Target dollar spot) and cupcake holder to house a mini pumpkin . The cotton stem brought in more of natures beauty and added to the woodsy feel.

I love the Harvest feel this next setting has.. The dried wheat/berry centerpiece is sitting in a galvanized tray filled with straw and a combination of real and faux pumpkins. Simple wood candlesticks bring in more of the woodsy feel.

After layering with a straw place mat, galvanized metal charger and white dinner plate, I added these darling mini olive buckets filled with straw and burlap pumpkins purchased from the Dollar Store. The graphic fringe neutral napkins were purchased from Kitch Studios.

This is one of my favorite tables I’m bringing back from last year. The buffalo check runner and script napkins bring out the pops of black with the chargers. the mini green boxwood wreaths look so cute around the white cupcake holders and mini pumpkins.

My biggest suggestion for tablescapes is to collect things from your home first to repurpose out of the box centerpiece ideas. I always visit the dollar stores and dollar spots at Target to find small, inexpensive items to use in the place settings. Having a variety of printed napkins in neutral tones can be very versatile for almost any table or holiday.

I hope you got a little inspiration for your own fall table or Thanksgiving scapes. I’d love to hear what you think and as always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Happy Decorating

Hi Deborah! I stumbled across your site last night purely by accident. It was really late and I told myself, don’t you date get on Facebook, simply because I tend to spend hours “trolling” in various pages and what not. Of course, I got on there anyway and there was your page staring me right in the face. I looked around a bit and I have to tell you that I am in love with your… well just about everything I see. My husband and I inherited my mother-in-law’s dining room set this summer when she downsized from a 4,000 square foot home to a condo. I’m wondering if you have some great Christmas table top ideas for me to make it great this year? Anything would be most appreciated! Thanks Deborah!! Jill Bolster
