Life is just bowl full of cherries so why not use them on a summer tablescape? I love using summer fruit to create a summer table setting but usually you see citrus themed tables. Nothing says summer to me more than a red picnic theme so I married the 2 together to create this fun look. Come see my tips to create your own beautiful table.
Color Scheme
Whenever I plan a tablescape, I always start with a color scheme and a theme. Sometimes the theme or the season makes the selection of colors really easy. I always think of red checkered patterns when I think of summertime. To warm things up I added some jute, crisp white and pops of my signature black. I also added some galvanized metal for another element of texture.
Place Settings
To keep with the theme I started with a jute placemat, added a galvanized metal charger plate and then topped with a white dinner plate. For that pop of black, I added an appetizer plate and flatware. These fun napkins and napkin rings are from Hobby Lobby. I love to mix all the different patterns and this set was just what I had in mind. To make it “extra” I tied on little stems of faux cherries to the napkin ring with some jute twine. i also added these little galvanized buckets that are perfect for filling with ice and a cold beer or soda.
Centerpiece
I wanted to keep the centerpiece simple and understated. I created a little “cherry tree” using a pottery vase, some lacy white stems and then I hung the extra cherries I purchased from the branches. So easy and unexpected.
I love the simplicity and laid back vibe it has, perfect for a summer BBQ or dinner party. Just add some candles for ambiance if desired.
