Happy Fall Y’all!!! I finally finished my Fall front porch and I love how it turned out. It’s definitely different from styles I’ve done in the past so it was a nice change. I love the mix of color and the variety of elements. Let me share the details with you, but first here is last years look, How To Create A Beautiful Fall Harvest Front Porch. Keep scrolling to see this year’s fall porch ideas!
There are so many options when it comes to outdoor decor for Fall. I usually like to come up with a theme or direction so I can have a general idea and direction of what I will need. This year I wanted to make it about color and more harvest looking. Some years I’ve gone “cutsey” others more classic and some years I’ve made it. more about Halloween. Sometimes it’s hard to just get started so here are some suggestions of items I focus on.
Tip 1
Create arrangements or clusters of nature whether it’s a pot, urn, basket or grouping and incorporate plants from the season. I used my summertime basket planters because I love the warm wood tone look. I created these simple arrangements using really and faux items. You can read about how to make them here How To Create A Pretty Fall Porch Planter
Tip 2
Add some seasonal items like pumpkins, cornstalks, scare crows etc. This year I created little pumpkin stacks and groupings of unique colored pumpkins and love the combination with the arrangements.
Tip 3
Place a seasonal door mat with a fun saying or design that welcomes your guests and celebrates the season. I love to layer mats and here I’ve used a larger black and white plaid to frame or anchor this pretty mat with it’s floral design. There are so many fun options out there for creating this look so have fun with it.
Tip 4
Greet your guests with a welcoming sign that says hey there, happy you are here. We change out our sign here seasonally and it always makes such a nice statement to greet people.
Tip 5
Add lighting for ambiance. I like to use lanterns with battery operated candles to create a cozy vibe but I also added this cute twig pumpkin that is pre lit and love the pretty glow that it adds.
Tip 6
Of course, don’t forget the front door! The options for what to put on the door are endless. I actually repurposed an old wreath this year by adding corn husks. You can get details to make your own here How To Repurpose An Old Wreath Into A Corn Husk Wreath.
So, there you go friends we are officially ready for Fall. I love having a festive greeting for all the holidays and Fall just seems like the perfect time to go a little “extra” . There’s something about the warm colors and textures that just make coming to the house a little more cozy. What do you think? …of course I’m sure our delivery people are thinking “where am I supposed to put the packages?” But hey, they get a pretty greeting when they come to the door, right?
