Create A Festive New Years Eve Table

IMG_E6245.jpgAre you ready for a new year, cause I know I am!! I’m always a little melancholy about ending a year (but NOT this year), there’s something so exciting about starting a fresh new year full of opportunities and change and a new start, especially after what we’ve all been through this year. This is a table I set a few years ago but it’s such a classic, I wanted to share it again. I’m more of a “stay at home and celebrate at home” kind of gal. I love to entertain and I always feel like New Years eve is so easy compared to other holidays.  This simple NYE tablescape is crowd and kid friendly and festive.

After the busy holidays, the week between Christmas and New Year’s can be a little bit of a let down. I used to get really sad after Christmas and all the build up of the holiday season. But in recent years, I’ve decided to use this week to reflect and rest. There are fewer expectations and it’s an easier time to be a little “lazy”. It’s really a great time you can count your blessings and “lay low”.

After all the hustle and bustle, more entertaining can sound like a big chore. Keeping things simple is the key. I don’t know about you, but after the holiday season, I’m in no mood to add more work for a party. This table scape is so simple and most of it is disposable.

Color Scheme

I started with a basic black and white decor and added the pops of gold and silver for festivity and a bit more sparkle.

Place Setting

I started with a silver charger (purchased from Party City) Then, printed off a clock picture from Google images. I cut the paper and taped it to the charger. Next, I layered with a clear plastic plate (purchased at Party City) . I used a striped napkin and tied it with a silver ribbon to make a bow tie. For added fun, I added mini New Year’s hats and noise makers. Gold plastic champagne glasses make it much easier for clean up and less stressful for guests. I tagged pretty name cards to them written with gold puff paint for guests to easily identify their own glasses.

Centerpiece

For the centerpiece, I used some festive white greenery, gold Christmas ornaments and a few accents purchased from Party City. Then strung battery operated lights down the middle and black Candle holders filled with snow.

Party Favors

I love giving my guests a simple party favor and these clear bags filled with “midnight kisses” are the perfect touch to a New Year’s table. I made these tags and you can print them here HipandHumbleStyle Holiday Printable

Pretty Dessert

This showstopper dessert will be your grande finale for this simple NYE tablescape!!! Simply elegant and easy (especially in a throw away dish)

White chocolate, champagne cheesecake shooters!! .. I mean Yum-Ohhhh.

Here is the recipe:

Yield: 6 shooters

Ingredients:

12 oz White Chocolate chips

1/2 Cup heavy cream

3/4 cup champagne

1 package 8 oz. cream cheese softened

graham crackers, 2 sleeves crushed

1 square white chocolate

gold or silver sprinkles

Instructions:

In small saucepan over low heat, combine the white chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir occasionally until the chips are melted and smooth. This may take about 10 minutes. Keep the heat on low. Once melted, remove the pan from the heat and add the champagne and stir well. Allow it to cool for 15 minutes. Combine the melted chocolate and the softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Beat using an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth. refrigerate 20 minutes

Crush the graham crackers (i put them in a ziplock bag and crush with my hands or roll with a rolling pin)

Then, add 2 Tbsp crushed crackers to the bottom of each glass. Transfer the cheesecake mixture into a piping bag and pipe into each glass. You can just spoon the mixture in.. If serving later, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate

For the cherries:

Pour sprinkles into a small bowl. Wash and dry cherries. Melt the square of chocolate with a little vegetable shortening in microwave for 1 minute. Dip each cherry into the chocolate and then half way into sprinkles. Place on waxed paper until hardens.

When ready to serve, add to top of dessert and enjoy!

( I served mine in disposable shot glasses… again easy!)

      Hi Michelle,

I’ve had those hurricane candle holders a long time. They are from Pottery Barn and no longer carry them.
