Beautiful Homemade Gifts-Oil Dipping Spices

Tis the season to be gifting and how about an inexpensive and easy gift that’s also beautiful? I’ve got a fun one for you today. This is super easy and perfect for anyone. I love that it is practical and pretty. I don’t know if you’ve ever dipped a crusty piece of bread into a seasoned plate of olive oil, but if you haven’t you’re missing out. It’s the best way to eat bread in my opinion(well except for a dollop of butter, but this is much healthier. So let me show you how to make this super easy homemade gift idea of olive oil dipping spices.

Making this gift is super easy and my favorite part is the presentation. However, it is a beautifully fragrant gift as well. To use the spices all you have to do is pour a little olive oil onto the plate and add the spices. Mix a little then dip that yummy bread right in. My mouth is watering just typing this!

There are other uses for these spices such as

  • adding to soups
  • use as a rub for chicken or other meats
  • toss with pasta and oil or butter
  • use when making sauces

Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1 T Rosemary
  • 1 T oregano
  • 1 T basil
  • 1 T parsley
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 pepper
  • 1/2 – 1 t red pepper flakes

How to make the spice Mix

  • Combine all the ingredients will into a bowl
  • Spoon into airtight jars of your choice.
  • Store at room temperature

And that’s it, super easy right?

Be sure that your spices are not outdated. They lose their punch if they are.

Once you’ve added your spices to jars, then it’s time to package them.

How To Package them

The presentation of a gift to me is the best part. So, I thought it would be fun to put this in a basket and place in a few additions. I used a cute little berry basket but you could use any type of container. Then I added an inexpensive plate. You can find them in Dollar Stores. Then add some olive oil in another cute jar. Finally, I added these cute labels which you can print off here olive oil dipping spices

Then you can personalize it any way you want. You can also add a tag with serving suggestions or other ways to use the spices. These would also be cute given in a little ornament ball.

I told you this was easy and what a wonderful way to give a gift too. I hope you enjoyed this simple idea. For more ideas you can read here, Beautiful Homemade Gifts- Mint Bath Milk
