It’s time to celebrate dad! Setting a fun table for dinner will make your dad feel special and it’s also a great way to incorporate their favorite hobby or gifts you are giving. Golf Theme

This look is super easy and fun to pick up one of dads favorite hobby. I just used his current golf equipment. However if you plan to give any golf items as a gift and just display it on the table.

For the place setting I used a basic jute placemat and a black charger with our everyday dinner plate. Then using a check napkin I folded it like a men’s necktie. A mini wreath was the perfect way to set a golfball on the placesetting… aka hole in one!

For the centerpiece I used some vintage books for height and placed a small topiary for a touch of “greens” and then scattered a few golf t’s. Then I laid 2 golf clubs in a criss cross pattern and set a golf cap ( a gift) in the center to finish it off.

I love the casual feel of the black and white against the woods and the pop of greenery made it feel fresh and gave that golf course feel.

This theme is a great generic look for any event really. Layers of wood beginning with the DIY placemat boards, olive greens and the pop of mustard create a fresh summer feel without the frills.

For the place settings, I started with the homemade wooden placemat. My husband cut these from scrap wood then used his plumbers torch to burn the edges and create the monogram B. Then I layered some square melamine plates to continue the sharp square edges. Then I placed a mini cutting board (perfect for serving a little appetizer or dessert on. Finally I added a pop of rich mustard and used these cute olive bush napkin rings from Hobby Lobby

I love how the deep greens and brown olives look against the bright mustard. Its such a nice earthy look just like a bright summer day!

The centerpiece is super simple just using wooden vases filled with beautiful olive branches. The perfect touch of greenery to tie it all in together.
