Summer, sweet summer…. Nothing brings back childhood memories and speaks summer fun more than dinner outside. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that I love to do unique table settings and this set up was so fun( if it hadn’t been so windy I would have set it up outside). I love using natural elements for summer time decor and there’s nothing more summer than sand, shells, palms and twinkle lights. If you’re looking for a fun way to entertain for summer, especially outside, come check out this summer filled table setting!
Nothing says summer like a beachy tropical theme… This was such a fun table to put together and I love the summertime vibe it has.
I started out with a fishing net as the runner laid across the table at an angle. Then for the centerpiece, I added a footed galvanized tray to house some driftwood, starfish and seaweed looking greenery. You could also fill the tray with sand and a variety of sea shells.
The candles are just a glass plate with a glass hurricane placed on top. I wrapped the outside with burlap jute then tucked in a large tropical leaf. Next just fill the hurricane with craft sand, a battery operated candle and sea shells.
For the place settings, I started with a straw placemat then placed a large tropical leaf offset on the placemat so that when the plate is on the leaf shows and hangs over a bit. Next, add the dinner plate and a smaller tropical leaf going the opposite direction as the large one and place a clear glass or plastic plate. For another fun element, I added these mini galvanized buckets filled with ice and a pretty sparkling water. You could use soda or even mini wine bottles. Bamboo flatware just added to the tropical theme. You could also use wooden flatware as well.
Next to the plate I used a stripped napkin for a nautical feel and used a nautical knot I found at the dollar spot from Target as the napkin ring. You could also use a thick cord and wrap it around a few times and knot it. A starfish gives a bit of whimsey to the whole look.
The candles add a pretty ambience to the table .
I hope you enjoyed this fun table and it gets you excited for summer celebrations. It’s always my hope that I can inspire you and give you fun ideas for your own celebrations.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and as always enjoy your feedback. I hope you have a wonderful summer and take the time to sit back, relax and enjoy the season.
