It’s spooky season and I’m here for it! I love to create spooky, haunted decor and enjoy creating fun vignettes for Halloween. This years mantel is one of my favorites and I can’t wait to share the details. Check out last years mantel here (you may see some similarities Spooky Pumpkin Halloween Mantel.
Last year I created a very similar look. I loved these pre-lit pumpkins so much, I decided to reuse them in a slightly different way this year. I had a vision of an all black vibe against the white stone, so grabbed some Rustoleum 2X black spray paint and the rest is history.
First
I gathered some dead branches from the yard (thanks to the last big wind storm) and gave them a coat of paint. I love the contrast and finish it gives the branches. Then I anchored to above the mirror (wired to a nail in the trim above) Then I placed a few large ones directly on the mantel.
Second
Then I added the newly painted black pumpkins to the mantel, varying the heights and sizes along the way. I also tucked one inside the fireplace with some battery operated candled for ambiance.
Third
To give a little pop, I added some white flowers and hung them as if they were wilted flowers dangling from the branches. I like the little bit of color they added to the back.
Fourth
Finally, I added a few crows to the branches to give a bit more spook to the look. They really added some personalty to the whole look.
That’s all there was to it! It was super fun and easy to create and I didn’t need to buy one thing for it. However, I will share some links to items if you need some sources.
