How To Create A Pretty And Simple Summer Tablescape

As summer winds down I like to keep things simple. I’m not ready for Fall decor yet but I also want to transition from light and airy summer to a little more cozy texture for that transfer of seasons. This table has that vibe for sure!

Color and Texture

To keep things simple I stuck with a very basic neutral color scheme of black and white with natural tones to warm things up. Layering with a variety of texture, like the jute placemats and cute fans gives the table a little touch of left over summer without feeling overdone.

Place settings

I started with a jute straw placemat to anchor the charger and plates. I love the contrast of the white dinner plate with the black charger. These simple black and white napkins are a fun match with the runner. Instead of traditional napkin rings, I used these fun fans. I simply pulled the napkins through the fan handle. They give that fun summer vibe (and come in handy if it’s hot ) I tucked in a little sprig of greenery for some color.

Centerpiece

I really wanted the decor simple. So, I started with a stripe black and white runner as the base. Then I added some glass and metal lanterns for a little “summer glow” feel. To finish it off, I anchored them with some pretty green stems .

That’s all there is to it, se I told you it was simple. If you want more color you could add some summer flowers to the greenery stems. Or, switch out the accent plates for a more colorful version.
