It’s entertaining season and if you’ve followed me a while you’ll know that I love setting tables. This is such a fun time for me and designing a table for Christmas is like playing dress up. I recently created 2 tables capes for a friends Christmas dinner party and had so much fun. This theme was inspired by the coziness of a sweater and scarf. Come check out the details on how I created this festive table.
Color Scheme
This cheery table really pops with the red, green and silver color combo. I created it round the gorgeous cable knit table runner and plaid napkins that look like a cozy scarf. I added the silver for a pop of sparkle.
Centerpiece
I started with the red cable-knit table runner then added a decorated wreath in the center. Next I added a candle for some ambiance and tucked in extra greenery down the center sides.
Place settings
I started with a cedar placemat, layered on a red charger, the dinner plate and then these fun accent plates with colorful Christmas scenes. For the napkin I wanted it to have a tied scarf appearance, so I folded it long wise and pulled it through a jingle bell napkin ring. I used red ornaments for the name cards and added little tags with a mini red paperclip to finish it off.

When decorating your table for Christmas, don’t forget about the chandelier. For this look I included into the center piece by draping fresh cedar greenery around the chandelier. Then, I added more of the red ornaments hanging with fishing line .
I just love how casual and festive this table is. There’s something so cozy about all the textures and the shiny ornaments together that says Merry Christmas.
