5 Beautiful Thanksgiving Tablesetting Ideas

Isn’t Thanksgiving the best? It’s that pressure free holiday that feels festive and special without all the pressures and expectations. I know it can be stressful if you are hosting but with a little planning and help it can be more enjoyable. I love setting the table to make our family feel special. Adding fun little details can take a plain table to wow very easily. Here are some ideas to get you started…

When I’m setting tables I like to start with a theme and or color scheme. It really helps when putting all the elements together and gives the whole table a more cohesive look. Layering textures and styles and adding an unexpected trinket or items related to your theme give it a little extra special touch. I also like to use party favors as part of the  place setting. Just a little out of the box thinking can take your table to the next level. Here are five different ideas to get you started.

White Elegance

Layers of creamy white with a pop of mustard yellow. Crisp elegance with gold accents give this table idea a slightly more formal yet coziness. Finishing off the look with a cute little pumpkin as a favor or place card marker is the perfect final touch.

Casual In Burlap

The textures in this setting really make this look unique. I started with a ruffled burlap placemat then added a burlap charger. I simple white dinner plate is just the right amount of pop. The little utensil pocket is easy to make by folding a piece of burlap and a hot glue gun. To embellish it I added some faux crafting leaves and a piece of wheat. Then I just made name cards and added tucked into the leaf arrangement. Then just fill the pocket with a pretty napkin and the utensils. This would also be a fun place setting for a kids table. You could add all kinds of fun embellishments.

Harvest Beauty

Warm woods and fall patterns make this so festive. I started with a wood charger, added a plain white dinner plate and brought a pop of Fall color with a printed accent plate. I created a pocket napkin fold with a cream napkin to pop against the printed plate then tucked in a fall foliage stem. You can also add the utensils and a name card. A large acorn ornament is perfect for writing a name on as a place card holder for each guest. I found the wood Thankful cutout at a local craft store to add the final touch.

Casual Black Harvest

If you’ve followed me a while you’d know I love to add a pop of black to my tables. Even though this look is more neutral in color, it still has a festive, colorful feel. The crisp black against the textured burlap and the colorful plaid makes for an unexpected but casually elegant table. I started with a ruffled burlap table, added a burlap charger, then a black dinner plate. To add some color I folded a plaid napkin with tones of rust, brown, black and creme and it gives just the right amount of color. Then I tucked in some black utensils and a cute grapevine pumpkin and wheat strand for some warmth.

Pumpkin Pretties

This look has a whimsical flare and a brighter, fresh vibe. I started with a wood charger and then layered a white dinner plate and a fun pumpkin accent plate. You could use and fall pattern for the same look. I found the coordinating pumpkin napkin ring at my local Hobby Lobby but any bright napkin ring would work. For a pop of green I placed a stem of magnolia leaves tucked under the dinner plate and a small leaf with the napkin ring.

So I hope this gave you some inspiration to create a fun table for your Fall gatherings. What’s most important is to have fun with it and design a table that works for you and your guests.
