I love a good furniture makeover and this one happens to be very popular. However, finding something unique and affordable was becoming very difficult to fit in the budget, especially since we had to buy 2. After searching for some inspiration on Pinterest, I found  several different ideas to try. I also didn’t want to spend a lot of money so this was the perfect project. This project only requires a few things and does involve some assembly

Supplies:(for making one)

• Rast dresser from Ikea
• 1 2 x 12 pine board cut to size of dresser top
• 4 caster wheels
• drawer pull hardware of your choice
• stain color of your choice( I used dark walnut with a white wash)

Step 1

Assemble the dresser. It really is a simple project just a little time consuming.

Step 2

Measure 2 equal lines creating 3 sections that will look like individual drawers. We used a circular saw set up to only cut a 1/4″ cut in the drawer.

Step 3(optional)

If you want the top to look more substantial, you can add the 2 “x 12” board cut to fit the size of the top and attach with wood screws in the 4 corners.

Step 4

Next, I added the stain. Once the stain was dry, I used some watered down white paint and lightly brushed  it on creating a weathered look.

Once everything is dry, with black paint or the tip of a black sharpie, fill in the cuts you made to create more depth of ht

Step 6

Then once everything is dry you can add your hard ware. I have linked the ones I used at the end of the post.
