Cozy vibes alert!! I don’t know about you but with this crazy world and cold winter my bed is my favorite spot. So why not make it super cozy right? The main secret to a cozy bed is fabulous layers of texture. Here is how I make a cozy winter bed.
Tip #1 Cozy Sheets.
Ok confession, I’m a total sheet snob. I love the high count sheets and usually in a crisp white. So this was new for me…flannel sheets! Oh wow are they fabulous. they are soft and cozy and the perfect first layer.
Tip #2 Soft Quilt
The next layer add a yummy quilt that has a soft touch. This channel stitch velvet quilt is so dreamy and I love this birch neutral color. Soft monochromatic colors keep things soothing.
Tip #3 Fluffy Duvet
There’s nothing better than sinking into a comfy bed with a big fluffy duvet. I like the texture of a linen or flax but a cotton is perfect too.
Tip #4 Pillows
I love to start the pillow layer with Euro pillows. I love that the set the frame for the rest of the pillows and can pull the whole look together. Usually the rule of thumb is 2 for a queen size bed and 3 for a king. Then I like to use standard sized shams that coordinate with the duvet. I think it pulls the colors together and draws the eye a little more balanced.
Tip #5 Decorative Pillows
There are several options when it comes to the throw pillows (rule number one you can never have too. many) I am loving the current trend with the large lumbar pillow. They have beautiful patterns and texture and give a crisp simple look to the bed. The other option would to place an odd amount of decorative pillows in contrasting and or matching prints.
Tip #6 Throw blanket and weighted blanket
I love to have an extra throw blanket at the end of the bed in case i get extra cold or want to read but don’t want to get under all the covers. Have you ever tried a weighted blanket? Y’all I got one last year for Christmas and can’t live without it. They really do help you sleep more sound and feel less anxiety.
In the winter I also like to layer a sweater type blanket on top of the duvet more for a cozy look and texture.
Are you ready to snuggle up now? I sure am…some days its a battle getting up but I am definitely sleeping well.
I hope you got some inspiration here and a few tips along the way. Create your room with soothing vibes as a retreat and safe place from the outside world. Keep out the TV, office work and anything else that can take away your joy and peace is you are in there. Make it your haven and use it to get away.
