Hello friends it’s pretty safe to say that saying goodbye to 2020 will be no sad news. Goodness it’s been a year and it’s definitely time to move on. It’s also safe to say most of us probably won’t be celebrating like we normally do. However, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate at all. You can still set a fun and glamorous table and wear your sparkly dress if you want. Most of all, just make it easy and special with whomever you are sharing it with. Follow along in this post becuase I’m sharing some easy and festive ways to create your festive New Year’s Eve table decor.
Whenever I plan a party or event, I have particular things I always do to help with the process and make it fun. Here are some of my favorite tips when creating a special evening and ideas to go along with them.
Tip #1- Start with a theme
Of course this is an easy one since it’s for a particular holiday and specific to the theme already. But, you could take it one step further. For example, a roaring 20’s costume and retro decor. There are a lot of themes you could incorporate into New Year’s Eve. I decided to incorporate the clock into the design of my table for this look.
I printed a clock face from clip art and cut them out. Next, I attached them to a gold paper plate, then topped with a clear plate. you could also create saying or message in place of the clock.
Tip #2 Color Scheme
For this table I used gold, black and silver and love the combination of all the metallics. The looked of mixed metals looks fancy even when using paper products.
Tip #3 Table Setting
I really wanted to make the clean up for this easy and low maintenance, so I went for all paper products. I used a white paper table cloth, then cut a strip of gold and white wrapping paper for the runner. I decided to make the centerpiece the dessert and the center of attention. I made some festive cupcakes with sparkle and displayed them on a double tier cake stand. The height was perfect and it added such a festive flare to the whole look
Then, I also added some holiday picks and gold Christmas ornaments around the base. Adding the party blowers gave a little whimsey and of course the twinkle lights for ambiance. Gold ornaments hanging from the chandelier gave additional sparkle.
I laid out the table designating a space for plates, napkins and utensils. Of course I had champagne glasses on a tray ready for the midnight toast. Because this was a potluck party, I made sure to leave plenty of room for our guests to place their food items.
Tip #4 Party Favors
When I plan parties I always do a little gift for my guests. It makes them feel special and its a nice way to say thank you for coming.
I added some chocolate kisses to clear favor bags, tied with silver ribbon then added a cute tag. The tag says “new years wishes and midnight kisses.
I hope you are inspired by these festive ideas, they are so simple. You can use your Christmas decor for a lot of table ideas and just repurpose it in a different way.
Wishing you all a year filled with peace, joy and love! I have so many fun things ahead to share with you in the new year and look forward to many inspiring projects and ideas.
