5 Ideas To Add Summer Decor In Your Home

Now that summer is officially here if you haven’t added any summer touches, now is the perfect time! There are a few things I do first before I make the changes and then I love to add special items to bring the feel of summertime inside. I have several summer DIY ideas you can make yourself. This is one of my favorite table top or centerpiece ideas How To Create An Easy Summer Centerpiece With Succulents . I’ll share a few more throughout this post too. So come see my favorite 5 ideas to add summer decor to your home…

First, I like to start with a clean slate. I begin by putting heavy textiles like pillows and blankets, as well as really dark or heavy plants and accessories. Things n the summertime should feel lighter, brighter and simple/effortless.

First I like to bring in light texture with baskets and mix them with unique pieces of pottery. The pot on the left was a DIY project that was super easy and inexpensive How To Turn An Old Pot Into An Artisian Stone Look Then I like to add pieces of driftwood. I love the texture they bring to a vignette and it gives the fell of a found item you brought right form the beach.

Another ideas is to use large dough bowl on a sofa table filled with beautiful sand and a mix of seashells really brings a unique look to a room and a definite statement piece. You can almost hear the ocean when you look at these arrangements.

Soft wood tones look beautiful and effortless when put together to display greenery and seashells. Wood sculptured pieces are very on trend right now and give so much personality to a vignette. This arrangement is perfect for an entryway table or even a side table in a bedroom.

This centerpiece on our kitchen table is such a great conversation starter and brings a little of the beach right to the table. I filed a light wood bowl with some natural color sand and tucked in a variety of seashells just like you would find them on the beach. Then I added some seaweed looking greenery for more texture and color. The black pottery adds a nice contrast to the light wood. I placed it all on a round wood cutting board to bring the whole collection together.

This beautiful arrangement is perfect for the front door or as a wall hanging in the house. I have mine hanging from a hook in our hallway on the board and batten wall. It adds so much character to the area and I love the effortless feel of summer it adds. You can learn how to make it here Create An Easy Summer Seashell Arrangement
