How To Create A Pretty Guest Room In A Small Space

Who says tiny spaces can pack a punch? This small attic room is the perfect spot for extra guests to sleep. I wanted it to feel fresh and cozy while looking pretty and chic. The room was originally so boring and I was so ready for a change and I love how it turned out…. come check out what I did.

Here’s what the room originally looked like. The whole space was painted baby blue by the previous owners. This is a long narrow space and I really wanted to make the best use of the space. The other half of the room was phase one. I created a craft space and wanted to coordinate the two spaces together. You can check out this post to see the other side of the room How To Create An Organized Craft Space

First I cleared out the room and painted the whole space a bright white. I used Alabaster White by Sherwin Williams. I wanted to give the room some character and a cozy, chic look by adding a feature wall.

I used the left over wallpaper from my laundry room project to give some soft pattern and personality to the area. I painted some old shutters black to give the whole look a pop. For extra lighting, I hung these vintage light from hooks anchored onto the shutters. Ilove how it turned out and the effect it gave the romm.

I love to mix patterns and this big bold check bedding mixed with the floral wall and polka dot pillows really blended well together. Just because a space is small, it doesn’t mean you can’t add bold prints.

This bedding from Beddy’s Beds is genius. https://beddys.com It fits on the bed like a fitted sheet but unzips on the side like a sleeping bag. It’s lined with the softest fabric and is super cozy…It helps making the bed so much easier. I love the final result and how fun and fresh the space looks now. And extra bonus you can receive 20% off your Beddy’s purchase with HIPANDHUMBLE20.

So what do you think friends? Isn’t it amazing how just a few small changes can make a room look so different? I love to know what you think…feel free to add comments or questions. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to the blog so you won’t miss any upcoming posts.

What a pretty room! I’m curious about the bed frames. They look lighter and more weathered in the before photos. Did you stain them? The bedding looks comfy and cozy and a good solution. Love your feature wall, the shutters and lights! Thx for sharing your talents!
