Hey friends, are you ready for Spring yet?…This girl is big time. We’ve had so much rain we better have a lush green yard this summer!! Transitioning to spring before it feels like spring can be a challenge. It almost seems too early to put flowers out when it’s still cold and grey outside. For me, the best way to start transforming into the new season is with soft shades of faux greenery & flowers . Come on in and take a look at my early touches of Spring….

These fun eggs are so easy to make. I just took plain plastic eggs from the Dollar Store. Cut strips of newspaper ( I happened to have some French paper I brought back from Paris a few years ago to use for projects) Then apply strips around the egg using Modge Podge (a type of glue found in craft stores) once the eggs are covered and dry, I used an antiquing stamp pad to sponge on top just to give them a more vintage, aged look.
 
 

 
For the mantle, I layered neutral textures and some soft sprigs of greenery. To add a bit of whimsey, I hung ball jars from cup hooks underneath and filled with pretty white flowers.

Adding a touch of spring flowers is all a bright sunny kitchen needs for Spring decor. Simple & fresh, just how I like my kitchen!
 

Dining room/ tablescapes

If you’ve followed me for a while or over on Instagram, you’ll know I love to do fun tablescapes. I feel like this is a space that you can really use your imagination and do unique things, without having to commit to it for an extended period of time. Plus, I love to make my family & guests feel special when they come to dine at my home

*SIMPLE SPRING WITH BLUES

For this look, I used some pretty blue plates but used neutral items to anchor the color, then tied it all together with some beautiful faux hydrangea. One of the keys to having fun with a table is by layering your place mats, chargers and dishes. This creates more texture and visual interest. For more table scape ideas, you can visit these posts

To add another Spring element, I nestled these fun folded napkins in another shade of blue to pick up more color from the flowers into a sweet little boxwood wreath.
 

*NEUTRALS WITH BUNNIES & BLUES

In keeping with the blue tones, I added more texture with lots of neutral items. Burlap is wonderful to work with because it is inexpensive and makes a great filler and texture with almost anything. It also lends to the farmhouse feel and dresses a table down just a bit. THe runner is just a narrow piece of burlap ruffled down the center. Then I layered 2 different chargers but both burlap.
I used shredded paper on the candle holders to give a nest effect for the candles to sit on (just keep your eye on them when lit-it could be a fire danger!)  I used the bowls like little nests as well and placed a vintage book page, colorful napkin and a sweet faux tulip. Again, what made this table so fun is the beautifully folded napkins.  See below for a tutorial on how I folded them. It’s super fun and easy. A great project for your kids to help with !
 

 
 

Rose Napkin Fold

#1 fold napkin into a triangle

#2 flip napkin then roll up starting with the long side

#3 start rolling the rolled up napkin tightly half way down (there will be part of the triangle left to open up as the “leaves”

 

#4 tuck the end into the rolled up side

#5 pull open the end that is

#6 the triangle part that is not rolled up serves as the “leaves” of the flower. Just open them up to stabilize the flower

You can also find or make really fun napkin rings. I purchased these from Pottery Barn several years ago, but I think they would be pretty simple to make. I have a close up below to help you better see them. Some other ideas would be to tie a little piece of fern or greenery around the napkin with a piece of jute.
 

*NEUTRAL AND SIMPLE WITH A GARDEN TWIST

Nothing says spring more than a garden. So I started with a basic layout and then you’ll see and you scroll down some different versions using the same place settings
 

 
Here is a basic set up with a creme macrame runner and layered neutral plate. Then just add a fun, festive spring or easter plate to add a special touch.. Then from there you can do several options as a centerpiece.
 

 
In this setting, I just used some chippy corbels, a faux plant in a zinc pot and some pretty bird nests. Very simple, but sweet and calm.
 

 
If you don’t have corbels, you can stack cake plates of any style, add a bird nest to the top and surround the lower level with various sizes and colors of eggs. I love the soft neutral colors of these eggs.
 

 
Then for this style, I swapped out the macrame runner for a moss runner and then scattered white eggs randomly on the runner. I took the top cake plate off and added these sweet moss bunnies. Then to tie in more garden variety, I placed these cute buckets (from the Target dollar spot-Is that spot not the best?!) Then, just take some faux grass(purchased at Hobby Lobby) inside and pop in your favorite color easter egg.. You could also write your guest’s name on each egg to personalize each place setting. Or use a real plant in the bucket and let that be a take home gift for your guests.
 

 

 

* FESTIVE AND SWEET BUNNY TABLE

Ok, I don’t know about you but when I think of Easter candy, I think of chocolate bunnies!  FOr this set up, I kept the burlap table runner, added some soft greener and white easter eggs. I topped 2 cake stands with nests nestled in shredded paper. The place settings were very layered and neutral. I then just used a vintage book page a faux tulip as another texture to tell a “story”. I then placed a bird nest on a stand(also from Pottery Barn several years ago) in a mini wreath and added some sweet little eggs. But, the highlight of the table are the resin (yes they are fake!) chocolate easter bunnies. If you can’t find the fake ones, of course really ones would work perfectly & serve as a fun take home gift for your guests.
 

 

 

 

*EVERY DAY EASTER TABLE

Because I have such a neutral color pallet and love using black in my decor, I used my every day place setting then placed the buckets of grass on the napkin to give it the Easter touch. FOr the centerpiece, I used my simple black scale and decorated it with the nest stands and greenery. Pops of green always make black & white look so fresh.
