Canton addiction & treasures

I’ll admit it…I’m a Canton addict. It started about 12 years ago on a visit with my mom and ever since I’ve become a junkie!! Also known as First Monday trade days starting the Thursday before the first Monday of the month{I know it’s kind of confusing} I think it’s one of the largest and best flea markets in the country(I’m kind of biased though!}Basically if you can’t find it, they don’t make it!!

My mom and I even had a booth in the Arbors for about a year. It was very unique~ a shabby, French boutique and I loved it. However the Texas weather made the monthly set up not so fun.
I also worked at Laurie Anna’s Vintage home merchandising and displaying the clothing & jewelry as the team leader for the clothing room. If you are a decorating blogger, you know who she is, if not check out her blog and website, or better yet, visit her store.
Laurie is a dear friend and incredibly talented woman. I miss the team but will forever be her biggest fan. She has given me so much decorating inspiration. {which you will see in posts to come}
For now I wanted to share with you my latest treasures. {which will be a sneak peak}….I’m busily redecorating my home-AGAIN so I will post my décor projects soon-my poor, patient family!
I’d love to hear what your favorite flea market finds are?

I found this silver champagne bucket and had to have it because of the character and distressed look to it, but also it’s a perfect size for arranging flowers. Everything else I have is too short or too narrow.

I bought this corbel having no clue what I was going to do with it, but it looks great in my newly decorated dining room. I’ve searched for a few years to find some mint julep cups and found two!
(ironically it was the same weekend as the Kentucky Derby so I’m considering them my lucky charms!)
This coal bucket has so much character and the chippy black is perfect. I had to beg the guy to hold onto it cause I had run out of cash and had to run to an ATM to get more! The Window in the background was purchased at Girls Gone Junkin’, one of my all time favorite Canton spots. Pam, who makes them has designed a few for me and you will see them in my home.

Besides windows and doors, I have this new obsession with old scales. I bought 2 in Canton. The suitcases were vintage finds given to me by my mother.
I’ve had the clock a while but these old locker baskets were everywhere in Canton and we found some guys who gave us a great deal. I had no idea what I wanted to do with them, but just knew they would be fun to have…now what should I put in them?

The old door in the background was a find a few years ago. I hung a vintage light from an iron cornice on it… a fun way to add additional lighting to my living room. Actually I have two of these door displays flanking my sofa and center display over the sofa.

I bought this old chicken feeder and planted succulents in them for a unique garden look.

Another window by Pam sits in my kitchen window flanked by two old window screens and some chippy finials I’ve had for years
