Thanksgiving is such a wonderful time to gather. It’s that amazing holiday that doesn’t require a gift or any expectations. It’s just a special time to spend with those you love sharing traditions… & hello, eating all that yummy food!! I usually put my fall decor out in September, so by November I’m ready for a change. You can visit my earlier fall decor tour here My Fall Home Decor Tour I make a transition for a brief time for Halloween, then simplify the Thanksgiving decor. By simplifying for Thanksgiving, it makes the transition to Christmas a little less work for me . In this post I’m sharing some beautiful end of fall decor and Thanksgiving table inspiration
This year I wanted a big wow factor and a little less clutter. I placed this large sign, flanked by some chippy shutters as a back drop. Then I added some beautiful wheat bundles. I love how natural the color looks next to the white. I added some soft greenery by using eucalyptus, and lambs ear in my vignettes.
I also simplified a few of the vignettes and kept the colors soft and neutral
Tablescape Inspiration
I love doing tablescapes, can you tell!… There’s something fun about creating a space for those who will gather and join together to eat and share stories and laughter. I think making the space special just adds to the fun and the atmosphere of the meal. You can visit this post for more ideas to setting a great table HOW TO MAKE A SHOW STOPPER TABLESCAPE
Rustic nature inspired table
This table setting has a more rustic, nature inspired theme & I thought this would make a fun dessert table. For the centerpiece, I used wood stands we had made and used for our son’s wedding. I placed simple white pumpkins on them, however I thought they would be fun with pies and desserts displayed on top instead. The wood chargers were cut from trees in our yard and also used at the wedding. I then place small dessert plates, layering with a fun leaf plate. Another special touch I like to add to tables are place cards. For this setting I took mini pumpkins and cut a small slit in them. I printed up name cards, then added a small stem of wheat and a raffia bow. I little bit greenery just softens the look a little and adds another natural element.
I also made these sweet little pine cone napkin rings around these adorable script napkins from Pier 1 Imports. I have a little tutorial on how I made them below, they are super easy and would be a fun project for kids to do with supervision with the glue gun.
Supplies needed for the pine cone napkin rings:
- Pine cones * these were bleached in 1 part water & 1 part bleach. Soak in solution overnight, then set out to dry in the sun (they will close up a little but will reopen when they dry out.
- Natural colored pipe cleaners
- Jute string
Make a circle by doubling up the pipe cleaner and twist it to finish it off. Then tie a little bow with the string then glue the pine cone on top.
I also like to add something to the table to inspire or bring gratitude to the table. I printed this little prayer and attached it to a tag, then aged it with a tea stain. You can then tie them around your wine glasses or to a napkin ring. It’s another touch that will make your guests feel special.
Romantic, shabby chic inspired theme
This table is a little romantic, shabby chic theme. I started with cinderella pumpkins on a shiplap tray, then added some hydrangea flowers, and lambs ear to soften it and add another natural element. I place that on top of a black and white buffalo check runner and check ribbon tied around the candle holders brings the look together. The chargers were doubled up by layering a sweet white charger on top of a ruffled burlap ruffled place mat . I will have all the sources at the end of this post.
I used a little wreath to anchor a with lacey container filled with bleached pinecones. You could use this as the parting favor for your guests to take home.
Simple, natural theme inspiration
Here is a simple, natural table that was very easy to arrange with things I had on hand. On this one I attached the little prayer to mini wreaths.
Formal, chic inspired theme
For this table setting, I went with a little more formal touch. I still incorporated natural elements, but kept it to simple greenery. I used the formal china, then to compliment the china, I added the gold pumpkin to tie it all together. Instead of place mats, I used some ship lap look wallpaper . The white against the dark table defines the place settings and dresses it down just a bit. Cupcake stands holding mini pumpkins with name cards adds another special touch and personalized it more.
I hope you’ve found some inspiration and enjoyed the tour of my home. Next up is Kathy A Delightsome Life. Head on over and check out her beautiful post. You can find the full hop schedule below.

Deborah, you certainly have a flare for designing tablescapes! Wow, this post is so full of ideas! I love the bleached pine cones. I tried last year…epic fail. I broke down and bought some because I love them so much. I agree with you about Thanksgiving being wonderful because you don’t need to have gifts, just togetherness! The little prayer is a perfect and thoughtful touch too. I am curious about the leaf place mats, where did you fin them? I love those too!
Thank you so much for joining my last two hops and sharing your lovely home with all of us. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I love these table settings. In one of your pictures (#5) you have what looks like sliced wood as a placed mat. You use it for the pumpkin displays too. Can you tell me where I can get this. It would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks in advance, love your settings.
Hi Grace,
Thanks for stopping by. The wood slices chargers are actually ones we made with trees from our yard that were cut. ( we actually made them for my sons wedding. & you can see them in a different look on the wedding post). We just sliced them and I cleaned and sealed them with polyeurathane . We made the stands using a smaller log and attached the wood slice to it. It’s a fairly simple project if you can find the wood. I have seen them available for sale in Michaels’ and Hobby Lobby stores. I hope that helps.
If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.
Take care
~Deborah xoxo
