Calling all traditional Christmas decor fans, this ones for you! I know Christmas decor can look so different to many people and that’s what I love most, seeing the variety and styles of decorations. I know many people are convinced that red must be in Christmas, so I created this table just for you. Place Settings
What makes this table so fun is the layers, textures and mix of patterns. I started with these gorgeous poinsettia placemats from Hobby Lobby. Then I added a gorgeous tartan charger. Next I placed a black plate to give a pop of contrast and a background for the accent plate. This mix set of tartan accent plates are so gorgeous and each one is a different pattern. I love the mix of all the plaids together. Finally I completed the look with a red and white script napkin and evergreen napkin ring.
Centerpiece
Since there is so much pattern going on with the place settings, I kept the centerpiece pretty basic with just some garland down the center and for height and ambiance black candlesticks at various heights. This way guests can still see each other but the height gives some drama as well.
That’s really all there is to it and I love not only the traditional vibe but the classic feel and little bit of chic drama with the black. I love to use black in my tablescapes because it gives a sophisticated feel to any table whether dressy or casual. I hope you got some inspiration and will try mixing up some patterns for an unexpected look to your table too.
