Ideas On How To Dress Up Your Porch For Christmas

When I think about holiday decorating, I remember the days of jumping in the car and driving around to look at neighborhood lights. It’s always so fun to see how people dress up their home for the holiday season. I love creating a welcoming, cozy entrance to set the tone for visitors and guests. This year I wanted to focus on a more natural, effortless feel with live greenery. Here is my porch design for Christmas 2021.

When setting up my porch I like to visualize a theme. Starting with a concept makes the decor more cohesive and much easier to put together. There are a few elements I always use when decorating our porch for the holidays. Hopefully these tips and this design will inspire you a little.

Welcome Sign

I love to greet visitors with a sign showing our appreciation for their visit. A simple little holiday greeting is all you need . I love this big merry Christmas sign from Simply Inspired Design Co. They have a great Etsy shop with many designs.

Elements From Nature

I always incorporate planters with greenery or floral to coordinate with the season or holiday. For Christmas I just love real cedar greenery. The fragrance alone is so festive. I draped 2 cedar garlands on the porch, one above the window and the other above the door. I used nails to anchor the door garland and suction cup hooks for the window garland.

This year I decided to use live little Christmas trees with lights in warm brown pots to give that woodland vibe.

Ambiance

I always have lanterns or lights on my front porch. I love the warm and welcoming glow they add to the space and twinkle lights at Christmas are a must, right?

Door Decor

One of the best ways to dress up your entryway is b decorating the door. I added a pretty pine wreath and embellished it with some velvet ribbon and a simple bell.

To create a fuller arrangement, I added some faux magnolia stems and gorgeous vintage bells.

Layered door mats are a great way to add another element of texture, color and pattern.

The cute address box always looks festive with the seasons florals. You can learn how to make one here How To Make An Address Porch Planter
