Beautiful And Simple Valentine Table Setting Ideas

How do you show love with a table? Sweet sentiments and hearts are a good place to start. I love this simple table, in my mind I planned this table for a simple breakfast or dinner look. Not a lot of fancy, fussy stuff. Just simple dishes, mixed with my signature black and always a touch of nature. So let’s break this down and get the scoop on a simple Valentine’s Day table for the day of love!

We may not be entertaining these days like in year’s past, however that doesn’t mean we can’t put together a fun table or setting for our family to have festive celebrations. I always have a few go to elements when I create a table.

Theme

I like to have a general theme when I create a table. It can be all about the holiday, the season or a special event. It’s the best way to get a vision of what you want the table to look like. Of course since this is Valentine’s Day it’s easy to come up with some ideas. I knew I didn’t want a typical “romantic” or ‘girly” table. I wanted a simple statement with a crisp, sophisticated look.

Place Settings

One of my usual looks for a place setting is a lot of layers with an unexpected touch. I started with a black charger to frame the fun dishes and give a crisp look to the whole table. Then I layered in a white napkin with a small stripe. Next I added the fun plate and bowl to pop against all the black. A touch of greenery softened the look and brought in another element of color. The little chalkboards add a special personal touch. You could either put the persons name on them or do what I did and use sayings from the conversation hearts.

Centerpiece

As a background for the centerpiece I started with a black and white stripe table runner that ties in with the napkins. I used my every day hurricane candles to utilize more black and the practicality of the look. In the center, I added this cute rose flower arrangement from Love Always Abby. The roses are actually real preserved roses. Then, to anchor the flowers I surrounded it with a sweet “s” shape of eucalyptus to bring in more texture and natural elements.

Simple yet pretty all at the same time, thats the goal of most of my tablescapes. I love creating unique looks for any meal even if it’s just an everyday meal. It gives me some creative freedom and makes dining fun and interesting.
