How To Decorate A Festive And Beautiful Holiday Porch

Welcome to our Christmas home. Creating a cozy and inviting space is important because its the first impression people have as they come to your home. It’s a great way to show some festive flare and express your personality. This year my Christmas theme is all about beautiful greenery and pops of black. I wish you could smell how wonderful these fresh greens from Lunch Creek Farms smell. So let me give you a little tour of my festive Christmas porch.

When I’m decorating my front porch for any season I have 4 elements I always go to. They are items that I feel give a great aesthetic and charm.

Pretty Arrangements

Whether its a planter of flowers, a bucket of pumpkins or an urn with greenery, I always like to have some type of seasonal arrangement to spruce up the entry to our home. I love adding as many natural outdoor elements as I can to the space.

These are super easy arrangements I made with 4 different types of greenery collected from the woods near my home. i started by placing 3 birch sticks in the center and wrapped mini lights around them. Then I tucked in pretty red berries and some pinecones. Super easy for sure. I just stick the stems and sticks right into the soil in the urn. I also mist it with water every other day to keep it from drying out.

Address sign

It’s important to share what your home address number is for deliverers etc. So why not make it super cute? We made this easy planter box this summer and I love changing our the plants in here seasonally as well.

Door Ornament

Dressing up the front door is the simplest way to get festive. I anchored fresh greenery around the entrance and this beautiful wreath. To dress it up, I added a black satin bow and vintage black bell. There are so many options for dressing up your door. Baskets, swags and teardrop arrangements are all beautiful and unique.

Cute Seating

I only wish I had the room to put a hanging porch swing. Our front porch is just too narrow. I love this old church pew given to me and it is the perfect size for the area. I just added a cozy pillow to dress it up.

Welcome Sign

Tell your guests you are happy they are here and add a sign that says it all. I love this sign by Simply Inspired Design Co. I change them out seasonally. We just added hooks in the stone then place eye hooks on top of the sign to hang them. That way its super easy to change them out.

Pretty Doormat

Use your door mat to add some pattern or personality to the door. I also love a layered look. In years past I did this plaid rug and then added a smaller one with a saying. This year I like the bold print by itself.

Beautiful Lighting

Adding beautiful ambiance says hello we are glad you’re here. I love walking up to a door in the evening with a golden glow. SO warm and inviting and it brings a welcoming vibe .

I hope this inpsired you and you are ready to get your front porch all ready for the Holidays. Even though it will be a different year than most let’s try to remember the reason for the season and embrace the holidays with our loved ones as best as we can. I have more Christmas content ahead including a tour of our home, a mantel design, tables capes and more.

Happy Decorating
