How To Host A Beautiful Galentine’s Day 2 Ways

February is almost here, ahh the month of love and friendship. My hubby and I never really have gone all out for Valentine’s day. I always called it the Hallmark holiday for card and flower shops. However, when I heard about this new to me ideas of Galentine’s day, it got my attention. What a fun way to say how much you appreciate your friends and share in the joy of friendship. The past few years I’ve hosted a Galentine’s day event and in this post I’m sharing 2 of my favorites. Currently I’m working on a “virtual” party and giving ideas on hosting a Galentines day party! I’ll be sharing that soon.

This was my first Galentine’s party and it was so much fun I decided to do this every year. I made this one a brunch so my girlfriends could come to the lake in the morning, enjoy a wonderful brunch and we could have the whole day to lounge and just enjoy each others company

Theme #1 Feminine Fancy Brunch

I really wanted this theme to be feminine and casual but feel fancy too. I didn’t want it to feel too formal and dressed up so I combined beautiful dishes and flowers with a paper runner and paper favor boxes.

Creating fun gifts and party favors for my guests is one of my favorite parts of hosting a party. I incorporated the boxes with the plates to make it look like a big gift. It made such a festive presentation. I dressed p the boxes with paper flowers and dressed it up with a big satin ribbon.

Inside the boxes are homemade beauty items. You can read all about the details of this party here How To Host A Fun Galentine's Day Brunch

I created a pretty buffet with a simple menu with savory egg bites a nd sweet french toast casserole. In addition I had fresh fruit and a layered yogurt parfait

We had such a wonderful time catching up and enjoying each others company. Spending time celebrating friendship is so important and I was so happy I could show them how much they mean to me.

Theme #2 Chic Afternoon Tea

The idea for the theme of this tea is influenced by Coco Chanel. I wanted this to be a fancy and sophisticated tea and stayed with a classic black and white. I added pearls, pretty china and a beautiful floral bouquet to dress up the table. For more details on how I put this tea together you can read about it here How To Create A Beautiful Galentine’s Day Tea

I served simple scones, fruit and a variety of finger sandwiches along with the tea

For the place settings I used a crisp black charger, our fine china with gold accents. I tied the white napkin into a rosette. The black boxes are the party favor and the finishing touch to the place settings.

Inside the boxes I added a homemade lip balm, a pretty mirror compact and handmade heart shaped soap.

For a fun treat I made these “little black dress” cookies and love how they turned out

I hope you were inspired to create your own little Galentine get together and celebrate your friends. This year I’m creating a “virtual Pajama party” and I’ll be sharing it soon. You can follow along on Instagram as I put it all together. Of course I will be sharing all the details in a blog post. Happy Entertaining
