How To Make A Simple Hoop Christmas Wreath

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” and I’m so excited! I’m loving a more simple look for Christmas decor this year. I was looking for a simple wreath for the kitchen vent hood but wasn’t able to find one that was in my price range. The ones I did love, are all sold out, which is the life story of 2020 inventory issues! So I decided to make my own and wow was it easy. I love how it turned out and I just had to share how to make a simple Christmas wreath.

Heres what you need:

  • Embroidery hoop (size of your choice)
  • 3-4 Greenery stems
  • Small house if desired-wood or porcelain( mine is porcelain from Target)
  • Ribbon of choice
  • Glue gun
  • Super glue
  • Scissors
  • Florist wire

Step #1

Spray paint your hoop if desired or you can keep it plain in the natural wood.

Step #2 Attach the house

I took a piece of wire through the windows and glued the bottom of the house to the wood block part of the hoop.

Step #3 Create Arrangement

Lay out your stems to the arrangement you like. I love to do asymmetrical arrangements but you can make yours the same on both sides. I love the off set look of various greens for this style.

Once you have the greenery laid our, use wire to wrap the step around the branch and hoop. I also used some hot glue to make them more sturdy. Once they were attached, I added some smaller pieces to fill in any gaps below the house . You can add additional pinecones or berries for more coverage if needed.

Step #4 Add Bow

You can tie a simple or more elaborate bow and keep the stems long or short. I wanted the look of a loose, bow that would hang down past the hoop.

And that’s all there is to it. Another ideas would be to layer various sized hoops to a larger wall space and just put a little greenery on them but keep the center hoop as the main focal point.

I hope you enjoyed this easy peasy wreath, I loved that I could make it quickly and the simple, festive look that it has.

This year I have a rustic, chic theme for my Christmas decor and this wreath fits in perfectly. If you are looking for more Christmas ideas I have several posts you can read here Ideas To Decorate A Christmas MantelChristmas Home Tour And InspirationHow To Make Marbled Ornaments
