My favorite thing about this table are the neutral layers with the pop of warm mustard yellow. An unexpected combo that evokes the feel of a Fall harvest.

Texture

The key to this look is all the texture, just like the harvest fields of Autumn. I started with a jute placemat and added a burlap charger.

Neutral Plate

Next, add your regular dinner plate of your choice. I like the look of this creamy white to pop against the neutral base but a warm fall color would work too.

Pretty Accent Plate

To add a bit of whimsey and fall color, I added a pretty accent plate. I found these at hobby Lobby this year. Any salad or appetizer plate with some leaf or fall foliage would work too

A warm Fall color is the star of the table. To me this mustard yellow isn’t too colorful for the neutral background and gives the feel of a harvested autumn field. Another element of texture I always add is greenery or some type of foliage. This mini wreath is the perfect touch to give a natural feel to the look.

Centerpiece

This is another place where the simplicity is key. Another added texture is the natural jute table runner to create the soft background. Next, I added some soft brown leaf garland picks down the center . Then I added some mustard pompous grass and neutral pods to tie in with the napkin color. A simple low centerpiece makes conversation easier and still dresses up the table. You could also add some candles in a neutral color to add a little more ambiance to the table

Hopefully this gives you some ideas for your upcoming Fall/Thanksgiving  gatherings, even if they are small you can create a special table. You can also use items you may already have in your home. Just think outside the box a little and bring in items you might not normally think of using.

This time of year can be overwhelming, so keep it simple and add your own special touch. I’ll be sharing some ideas to help you get prepared for the upcoming holiday season. Let’s make it stress free this year, after all it’s been stressful enough, am I right?!

I love your blog. You have such great style and wonderful ideas. With the holidays coming up, your suggestions are so helpful. I was wondering if you would please increase the font size and make the grey lettering just a little darker. My eyes have trouble reading the small letters and I don’t want to miss anything.. Thank you for all the love and time that you put into your blog . You are very much appreciated.
